This video shows landscapes of Alaska. From glaciers in the Alaska Range, to the Interior's boreal forest and the Arctic tundra--this short movie highlights the importance and stunning beauty of Alaska's frozen lands. It contains footage taken by Alessio Gusmeroli during research expeditions to the study glaciers, snow and permafrost in Alaska. The soundtrack for this movie is "Arktika" by the Russian artist Mara, who kindly gave permission to use this song for research and education. It fits perfectly with the landscapes shown in the video.

Inspiring Girls Expeditions empowers young women to lead and succeed through science, art, and wilderness exploration. The program runs 12-day tuition-free wilderness programs for 16- and 17-year-old girls that interweave scientific investigation, artistic inquiry, and backcountry travel. The expeditions are led by female-identifying instructor teams composed primarily of graduate students and early-career scientists and professionals. Inspiring Girls offers up to four different expeditions with the support of the Alaska Climate Adaptation Science Center (AK CASC) and Alaska EPSCoR: Girls on Ice Alaska, Girls in Icy Fjords, Girls on Water, and Girls in the Forest.
